€5 million for Europe's first Neo-Carrier: NexDash digitalizes and electrifies road freight transport with AI, capital and scale.

  • NexDash is accelerating the transition from diesel to electric freight transport and is building Europe's largest digitally connected, proprietary, and fully operated electric truck fleet — laying the foundation for large-scale electrification.
  • Seed financing of €5 million led by Extantia Capital and alongside Clean Energy Ventures.
  • The company acquires existing diesel logistics operators and gradually electrifies their fleets — powered by NexDash's data-driven operating and service platform — within a "Trucking-as-a-Service" model, while also developing new charging infrastructure with energy and industrial partners.
  • NexOS: the company's proprietary operating system that manages routing, energy, maintenance, and financing in real time — enabling AI-driven and, in the future, autonomous logistics services.
  • Goal: scalable, zero-emission logistics — "Green Logistics, made in Europe."

Berlin, 21 November 2025. Only three months after its founding, NexDash secures €5 million in seed funding. The company was founded by Michael Cassau, who previously built tech-rental unicorn Grover and is now developing Europe's first Neo-Carrier for electric trucks.

Road freight transport is one of Europe's most economically significant — yet least digitalized — industries. Around 35% of transport-related CO₂ emissions come from heavy-duty trucks. Despite the clear economic advantages of electric drives, electrification has so far been slow: over 90% of logistics operators run fewer than ten vehicles — typically small, outdated diesel fleets — and operate on thin margins with limited access to capital and digital tools. Although electric trucks are becoming increasingly competitive over their lifecycle, many operators remain hesitant due to high upfront costs and the need to adapt to new operational processes. The lack of charging infrastructure and low digitalization pose additional major barriers. As a result, the industry faces deep structural challenges.

With NexOS, an AI-powered orchestration platform for fleets, energy, and capital, NexDash provides the digital backbone for the transition to electric and — in the future — autonomous logistics.

A platform approach to electrifying, digitalizing, and consolidating road freight transport

NexDash bridges this gap with a platform model that combines digitalization, electrification, and consolidation. The company acquires mid-sized logistics operators to build operational capacity and a customer network. The acquired fleets are rapidly electrified and expanded — supported by scalable structured financing that enables fast transformation. Through its own Trucking-as-a-Service (TaaS) platform and the NexOS operating system, NexDash orchestrates charging infrastructure, route optimization, and AI-driven fleet management to reduce both costs and emissions. The result is a scalable, economically sustainable model for emission-free, digitally connected transport logistics.

Founder and industry perspective

"Germany's electrification starts with logistics," says Michael Cassau, Founder and CEO of NexDash. "The SME sector is the backbone of the industry — but remains extremely fragmented. We consolidate, transform, and electrify diesel fleets, creating the foundation for a new operating model: Trucking-as-a-Service made in Europe."

Cassau continues: "The last decade was about neobanks — the next is about neo-carriers. With NexOS, we connect energy, capital, and data to electrify and scale Europe's freight network — building the operating system of an electrified, increasingly autonomous economy."

Cassau is joined by Karsten Sachsenröder, a long-time top executive at DB Schenker and experienced advisor to leading private-equity firms.

Investors see an industrial turning point

Joern-Carlos Kuntze, Partner at Extantia Capital and NexDash Board Member, says: "Electrification in heavy-duty transport doesn't fail because of technology, but because of orchestration. NexDash integrates software, infrastructure, and capital in a TaaS model and scales transformation where it matters most — in operations. This team has the potential to consolidate the fragmented market and build a robust, zero-emission logistics platform in Europe."

Commenting on the investment, Daniel Goldman, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Clean Energy Ventures, said: "NexDash fits ideally in Clean Energy Ventures' strategic focus areas, offering a market-leading, highly scalable, and data-driven business in a sector that is ripe for disruption, carbon reduction and capital efficiency."

Logistics as a lever for transformation

While NexDash's current focus is on electrification, the company is already planning the next phase of development, where autonomous and data-driven transport solutions will be implemented based on its proprietary charging infrastructure. The goal is to build a scalable and sustainable logistics platform for the next generation of European freight transport.

The €5 million seed round will fund the acquisition and integration of smaller logistics companies, the deployment of the first electric trucks, and further development of the digital platform for efficient fleet management. Additional funds will go toward charging infrastructure, operational efficiency, and team growth — with the aim of scaling NexDash's zero-emission logistics network across Europe.
